Review specific guidelines for modifying and canceling reservations at Disney Resorts—including Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disneyland Resort hotels.

The following guidelines apply to modifying and canceling reservations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

In an effort to reduce wait time due to a larger-than-usual call volume, Disney Vacation Club recommends making any modifications to your upcoming trips online.

The following modifications can be made to your trip online:

  • Dates, resort, room type
  • Add/Remove guests (with the exception of the Primary Guest on the reservation)
  • Cancel a reservation
  • Create and deactivate waitlist
  • The following cancellation and modification guidelines are subject to change without notice.
Modifying a Reservation
31 or More Days Before Check-In If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be returned to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.
30 Days to One Day Before Check-In All Vacation Points will be placed in a Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls. If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points in the Holding Account will expire at the end of your Use Year if not used.
On the Check-In date If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the orignal reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be forfeited.
Cancelling a Reservation*
31 or More Days Before Check-In All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be returned to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.
30 Days to One Day Before Check-In All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be placed in a Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.
On the Check-In date All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be forfeited.

Important Information for Disney Collection Exchange Option Reservations:

  • A modification to a Disney Collection Exchange Option reservation (excluding Disneyland Resort hotels in California) is considered a cancellation and rebooking, and will require an additional non-refundable $95 transaction fee.
  • One Reservation Point is equivalent to one allotted Vacation Point.
  • Returned Reservation Points will be deposited into the Use Year in which the cancelled reservation falls. Returned Reservation Points may not be used for Disney Vacation Club Resort reservations or for Worldwide Villas through Interval International exchanges and will expire at the end of your Use Year. Returned Reservation Points cannot be banked.
  • Transaction fees are non-refundable.

Important Information About Reservations:

Effective January 19, 2019, Disney Vacation Club Members who do not acquire their real estate interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. will not be able to make Vacation Point reservations at some or all non-Home Resorts.

Important Information about Membership Extras:

Membership Extras, such as exchange options in the Disney Collection and all of the Concierge Collection, certain discounts, offers, and special events are incidental benefits. These incidental benefits are subject to change or termination without notice, may require the payment of a fee and cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. Membership Extras are also subject to availability and block-out dates may apply, including high periods of demand such as Christmas and New Year’s Day. To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. Exchange options in the Disney Collection and all Concierge Collection options are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. after March 21, 2011, and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. will not have access to Membership Extras.
