When you travel with us on an expedition, you'll enjoy boundless opportunities to be surrounded by natural wonders and exotic wildlife, to explore celebrated archaeological sites, to learn about different cultures and share in local traditions.

Expertise & Activities

Most trips are accompanied by a National Geographic Expert —such as an archaeologist, conservationist, or photographer—who enriches your experience with their knowledge and insights. In addition, a seasoned Expedition Leader who curates a personalized, seamless journey, as well as knowledgeable local guides join us along the way. You’ll gain special access to museums, sites, events, and experts in the field—including our own grantees, whose programs we visit whenever we can. A wide variety of daily activities and excursions that allow you to explore your destination in depth.

Hotels & Dining

You’ll stay in outstanding accommodations selected for their location, their character, and their high level of service. On our River Cruises, all gratuities are included. On our Signature Land Expeditions, all gratuities are included except for the Expedition Leader. Most meals are also included, and the restaurants we select primarily feature high-quality local cuisine.
